Regional Partnerships closed

The Australian Government announced on 13 May 2008 that the program had closed, no new applications would be accepted, and, applications that were under assessment would not be considered for funding.

Regional Development Forums

Sturt ACC will hold two forums to hear the views of business, community and government leaders as part of the Australian Government’s push to consult broadly about new regional development initiatives. These forums follow last months successful Regional Expos held at Loxton, Renmark and Saddleworth which had a drought focus and were sponsored by Sturt ACC.

The purpose of these forums is to consult with - and gather the views of - business, community and government stakeholders and provide advice to the Australian Government on:-

The forum dates and times are:-

Friday, 25 July, 2008 from 10am to 1pm

District Council of Loxton Waikerie, Loxton

Friday, 1 August, 2008 from 10am to 1pm

Wakefield Regional Council, Balaklava

A light lunch will follow each forum.

To enable us to adequately cater, we ask that you RSVP your attendance and preferred venue no later than Tuesday, 22 July, 2008 by contacting our office - phone 8562 2511 or e-mail sturt@sturtacc.org.au

Drought Assistance Information

Many of the communities that we are involved with are noticeably affected by the prolonged drought and reduced water availability. The entire area of SA covered by Sturt ACC has been declared an exceptional circumstances region, and there is a significant impact on the Riverland communities in particular.

We are keen to facilitate access to as many sources of advice, information and support services for rural communities, farmers, business and industry with relevant information.
